While compiling my top 10 travel beauty essentials, I wanted to include those I can’t live without. There is no reason that you should have to sacrifice your beauty routine while traveling even if you are traveling carry-on only. This post will share my favorite travel beauty essentials which all happen to be carry-on appropriate if that’s how you roll!

Travel Beauty Essentials
Firstly, this list was created so I could share the ten must-haves. My beauty routine outlined here is focused on healthy skincare along with minimal makeup for a natural look. Here at Astonished Abroad, we want to provide our travel, health, and wellness tips and skincare is no exception!
Let’s Start With Skincare
Cerave SPF daytime/night cream: This moisturizing duo is my go-to whether at home or traveling. Daily SPF is necessary, best of all, this formula does not leave you feeling greasy. This skin-renewing night cream is super silky and recommended for all skin types per the Cerave website. I have sensitive skin and find these creams very gentle on my skin and don’t cause breakouts. While every skin type is different, the Cerave brand prides itself on being developed by dermatologists.
Lancôme Genefique: If you haven’t tried this fan-favorite serum you don’t know what you are missing! I have been using this product for over 4 years now and it is definitely a staple in my skincare routine. It not only has a long list of benefits but it leaves the skin glowing and looking fresh and who doesn’t want that after a long travel day?
Lancôme Tonique: This tonique is yet another Lancôme product that I have used for several years. It leaves the skin feeling super hydrated and it smells wonderful! I tend to use this at night only prior to using my serum.
Neutrogena’s Compostable Makeup Remover Cleansing Wipes: Looking to cleanse away your makeup and any other dirt from the day? You can do just that with these cleansing wipes. I love to keep my wipes nearby while on a long flight to give myself a nice cleanse before winding down. The wipes are actually made of 100% plant-based fibers and will biodegrade within 35 days in home compost according to their website.
Next up: Makeup Essentials
Lancôme Effacernes Undereye Concealer: Thank you to the Ulta employee who turned me on to this concealer years ago! This full coverage and waterproof concealer is especially great for those who were blessed with beautiful under-eye circles. This stuff does the trick to cover under-eye circles and leave you looking well-rested! Tip: sign up for Lancome’s reward program and be sure to check out their Black Friday sale each year, in 2022 the items listed above were all 50% off!
Urban Decay Naked 3 Mini: Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Mini is a trusty eye shadow palette. It makes this list because the pigment is perfect and it stays on all day. The lighter colors are perfect for a daytime look and the color “Right Time” is perfect for a smokey eye for going out. I also love how small this palette is. While I have several palettes on my vanity at home, not all of them are small enough to stash in my carry-on.
Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara: No matter how many more expensive mascaras I have tried, I always come back to Lash Blast. I hope Cover Girl never, ever discontinues this formula! Lash Blast mascara is affordable, long-lasting, and won’t flake off throughout the day. It also comes in a waterproof version for those beach vacays!
Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out: It is no wonder Rihanna is a billionaire. If everything in her makeup line, Fenty Beauty is this great, I will have to change this list to my top 20 instead of 10. This blush is long-lasting and the pigment is spot-on. I also love that I don’t have to risk using a powder blush that may crack or break en route. My favorite shade of Cheeks Out is Crush on Cupid.
Don’t Forget the Beauty Tools
Beauty Blender: I love my beauty blender to apply my concealer. While I don’t wear foundation, the beauty blender is also helpful for foundation, concealer, or when using BB cream and even cream blush.
Eyebrow Brush: Finally, my eyebrow brush is the last step in my routine before heading out on an adventure. This IT Cosmetics brush leaves you looking polished and ready for sightseeing or a fun night out.
